Jim Furyk Is Look to Play Himself Back into Form

Jim Furyk Is Look to Play Himself Back into Form

Jim Furyk is an American professional golfer, 2010 FedEx Cup champion, and 2010 PGA Tour Player of the Year. In September 2006 he reached a career high of second in the Official World Golf Rankings. He ranked in the top-10 for over 350 weeks between 1999 and 2010.

The 41-year-old missed the halfway cut at last week’s US Open – an event he won in 2003 – and has managed only two top-10s all season. Do you know Jim Furyk won the 2001 U.S. Open?

When Jim Furyk won the U.S. Open championship at Olympia Fields in 2003, his winning score was 8-under-par 272. In this article, you may find the latest golf news about Jim Furyk. Furyk is known for consistently playing at the top level and for a visibly unconventional, looping golf swing. Due to his ability to perform at such a high level despite that swing, his devoted fan base has given him the nicknames “The Grinder” and “The Businessman”. This week he will be in the field at the Travelers Championship in Connecticut at a time he would ordinarily be looking to fine-tune his game in private ahead of the season’s third major.

However, Furyk believes continued competitive action could be the key to him rediscovering his best form ahead of Sandwich. “I have played well here at times,” he stated. When we are not playing well, you have to keep playing.

“You can’t go home and practice and get better. You need tournament conditions. I feel this is the best event for my game and the best event already not in my schedule.”

Having slipped down to 19 in the latest round of world rankings, Furyk concedes he has much to work on in his game at present. “The strength of my game is 100 yards in,” he continued.

“I don’t feel like I did anything all that wrong last week at the US Open. I don’t feel by any means I should have missed the cut, but I’m not scoring well enough.” Another individual eager for playing time is Geoff Ogilvy as he continues his comeback from a shoulder problem suffered before the Masters. He still managed a tie for fourth at Augusta but has struggled due to the problem since then.

“There were tournaments I have missed that I really like,” Ogilvy told the Middletown Press. “Ultimately, it is frustrating really, just watching these golf tournaments on TV. Normally I play a lot through the US Open but I’ve hardly played, so I’m desperate to play.”

Will McIlroy Ready for Hong Kong Open

On 19 June 2011, McIlroy won the U.S. Open Championship. He has been cited as the most exciting young prospect in golf and having the potential to become one of the highest earners in sports in terms of endorsements. What next for him? More and more golf fans would want to this answer.

Today, some golf reporter said U.S Open champion Rory McIlroy will headline the field at the Hong Kong Open in December, the Asian Tour announced on Friday. Is it real?

In this article, I would like to talk something about the latest golf news about Rory McIlroy. If you want to know more golf clubs review or news about Rory McIlroy, you may read this article about Ping G15 Irons for sale in my blog.

McIlroy, who won his first major at the Congressional Country Club by an impressive eight-shot margin on Sunday, is looking forward to returning to one of his “favourite tournaments,” which is co-sanctioned by the Asian and European Tours.

The Northern Irishman will be looking to improve on his sixth-place finish in last year’s $2.5 million event to be held at Fanling from Dec 1-4. “It will be very special to be announced on the first tee as the U.S. Open Champion,” said the 22-year-old in a statement on Friday. “Hopefully I can bring some of that Congressional form to Hong Kong and give the fans a great show.

World number 10 McIlroy carded eight birdies and one bogey in his round while McDowell, now one place above his compatriot in the world rankings, registered six birdies and a bogey in his 65.

After his round, McIlroy said he was very happy with his start. “I got off to a really nice start as I was three under after my first nine holes and although I missed some birdie chances I was happy to bounce back and finish with a good birdie on the ninth,” said the Holywood player.

“It is such an amazing city with a very special energy and every time I go there I just love the place,” he added.

“There are always courses that you particularly like, and this is one of those for me, so if I keep playing the same way I should have a very good chance of winning this title,” added McIlroy.

McDowell was happy with the “very solid start” that he made. “I played really well and missed only one green – I’m feeling good about my game.

Golf Is Back, Golf Is Cool

Nowadays, all of us may know that Tiger Woods is not the best golf pro around the world. So, more and more golf fans think that golf is not exciting tournament. Now, Rory McIlroy may golf game coo. So, golf is back, and golf is cool.

In this article, I would like to tell you the latest golf news about Rory McIlroy. If you are looking to buy good golf clubs, you may try these Callaway X24 HOT Irons

In winning last weekend’s U.S. Open, Rory McIlroy proved what golf enthusiasts, club pros and the occasionally overweight gentleman in a pair of chinos and a Tommy Bahama fedora have been pledging for decades.

McIlroy is an undoubted light at the end of the Tiger tunnel, a tunnel that featured a stunning car crash and severe highway traffic. Tiger’s exodus — not from the game, but from that lofty throne in the clouds where Zeus and Hera live — left the game he helped build in an almost heart-stopping turmoil.

All that work Tiger Woods had done to make kids love the sports — to get them to wear fitted Nike caps and work on their bunker game — was coming unraveled, caused on one part by Tiger’s infidelity and on the other by his suddenly sloppy golf game.

It’s unfair to automatically ask Rory — who’s just won his first major — to surpass Jack’s mark, or to surpass Tiger’s… Hey, it may be unfair to ask him to surpass Watson, Ballesteros, or Hogan, too. Sergio Garcia was supposed to be Tiger’s ultimate rival from 1999 on. At least, that’s what NBC wanted. Twelve years later, and El Nino still hasn’t won that first major.

I know that Rory’s great. I know he’s talented, and he’s charismatic and — here’s that word again — “cool.” But, McIlroy is not here to replace Tiger’s records (or, future records). He’s not here to take his place on the tee. He’s not here to be Tiger. He’s here to show that golf is alive and well, and that it isn’t just surviving without Tiger winning every tournament – it is better.
